Avonlea Rickerson, MPH

Research Associate

Avonlea Rickerson joins the team as a research associate working on the 4-Us and Bright studies. Avonlea earned her B.S. from Howard University with a concentration in Community Health and minor in Chemistry. She completed her MPH in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Prior to joining the center, she has interned in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and worked various organizations in the Washington, D.C. area, all focusing on HIV prevention and sexual health.

 

Avonlea is passionate about the public health field with work interest in HIV prevention, HIV pathogenesis, maternal and child health, health disparities, and global health. Her outside interests including traveling, cooking, and hanging with friends and family
