Catherine Washington

Research Associate

Catherine is a Research Associate on We Prevent: a development and pilot study that’s introducing a relationship skills session to the current Couples HIV Testing and Counseling (CHTC) for young, gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Michigan State University.

Prior to joining the center, Catherine was a Lab Manager and Research Technician for the Neurobiology of Social Behavior Lab at Michigan State University where she studied the underlying neuronal mechanisms behind social play behavior.

Her research interests include community based participatory research involving racial, gender, and sexual minorities, making research outcomes more accessible to the public in an effort to promote health equity and social change, and increasing health outcomes within minority communities.
