Emily Dove-Medows, PhD, CNM

Assistant Professor

Dr. Emily Dove-Medows earned her Ph.D. in Nursing from Wayne State University. She is a Certified Nurse-Midwife with a research interest in the impact of structural racism on health. Her dissertation, Property, Power, and Preterm Birth was a mixed-methods study that explored racial residential segregation and preterm birth among pregnant, Black women. She graduated from Wayne State University with a master’s degree in Nursing and a specialty in Nurse Midwifery. Emily earned a BA from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University and a second Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from The Rory Meyers College of Nursing at New York University.
