Natawan Khumsaen, PhD, RN

Research Faculty

Dr. Khumsaen undertook a Post-Doctoral Fellowship under the SON D43 program. She received her doctorate degree in nursing science from the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio and a Master of Nursing Science degree from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. She holds a Bachelor of Nursing Science from Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Sappasithiprasong in Thailand. 

Prior to her work with the center, Dr. Khumsaen worked as a nursing instructor in Boromrajonani College of Nursing, Suphanburi under the Ministry of Public Health, Thailand. For the past 2 decades, Dr. Khumsaen has been involved in research projects related to sexual risk behavior among adolescents and vulnerable and at-risk population; parents, partner and other social and cultural influences on adolescent sexual risk-taking behavior. Currently, Dr. khumsaen is interested in sexual health, HIV risk and perceptions of HIV as a chronic disease among late adolescent MSM in Thailand.
